Seeking the Lord, our God
What to Expect
We are currently meeting in the conference room at the Best Western on Hwy 77 in Waxahachie. Our service begins at 10:30 with prayer, worship through music, followed by a verse-by-verse message from God's Word, a time of questions and answers concerning the message, and we conclude with an observance of the Lord's Supper. Afterward, we share a meal together in a time of fellowship.

The purpose of His church is to bring glory to God as a people here on earth. In the pursuit of this goal, the church is to carry out four functions.
We worship God by coming to a place of reverence and awe for who God is and our relationship to Him, which results in an attitude of complete dependence, submission, and allegiance to Him (Psalm 5:7; 100:2; John 4:21-24; Heb 12:28). We carry this out through hymns and praise choruses, public reading of Scripture, corporate prayer, ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and traditional church creeds.
Bible Teaching
The focus of our Bible teaching is simply the explanation and application of God’s Word (John 17:17; Col 1:28-29; 2 Tim 3:14-4:4). Our goal is that everyone would understand the Bible and become more like Jesus because of it. To this end, we study Scripture one verse at a time together as families. We then have a time after the sermon for questions and answers. We want to be people grounded in the truth of the Scriptures, and therefore we are committed to the study of God’s Word as well as being changed by it.
In our fellowship, we intentionally build relationships in a loving and holy community where redeemed saints are meeting regularly (Acts 2:42; Eph 4:1-6; 1 John 5:1-2). It is a foretaste of the heavenly kingdom — life as it should be, where all people are valued, and believers are investing their lives to disciple, edify, and encourage one another. The body fosters fellowship by sharing a meal every Sunday, where we discuss life, the sermon, and pray for one another. We also offer small group Bible studies to build relationships and understanding in our pursuit of holiness. Our goal is to create opportunities for members of all ages in the body to experience God’s love at work by serving others and being served.
Witness is the outward focus of sharing God’s good news and His love with those outside the believing community (Matt 5:14-16; 28:19-20; 3 John 6-8). All members of the local body, as well as missionaries, carry out this work, both intentionally, with specific goals and tasks, and unintentionally, by being the light of Christ in our everyday lives. It is the responsibility of the leadership of the church to equip the body for this work. Corporately, the body sends out missionaries abroad. Individually, each believer touches his or her world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
